How can I join the Galaxy Find network? If your SmartTag is out of the 120-metre range of the BLE (Bluetooth low energy) connection, it will require the help of the Galaxy Find network to be located.
The Galaxy Find network is made from other Galaxy device users that have agreed for their devices to be used as Find Nodes. Find Nodes receive the signal from lost SmartTags and send the location anonymously to the SmartThings server, allowing for you to find your SmartTag no matter how far away it is.
To help other SmartThings users by using your device as a Find Node, you will need to agree to offline finding in the SmartThings app. This is an option you can select when adding SmartThings Find.
- Open the SmartThings app on your device
- Tap the menu icon. The menu icon appears as three horizontal lines
- Tap SmartApps
- Tap SmartThings Find
You can also agree to use your device as a Find Node through your settings. You’ll be asked if you want to do this when setting up SmartThings Find.
