Details of the Fatal Crash and Immediate Response

The Anthony Joshua car crash occurred on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway when the SUV collided with a stationary truck. Early investigations suggest that a tyre burst due to excessive speed caused the vehicle to lose control. Joshua and the driver were rescued from the wreckage and transported to a hospital for medical treatment. Ghami and Ayodele were sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Tributes for the Two Team Members Who Lost Their Lives

Both Ghami, Joshua’s long-time strength and conditioning coach, and Ayodele, his personal trainer, were integral to Joshua’s career. Tributes have poured in from the boxing community and fans worldwide. Eddie Hearn, the chair of Joshua’s promoter Matchroom Boxing, expressed his condolences, and fellow boxing experts reflected on the immense contributions of both men to Joshua’s success.

Joshua’s Condition and Official Statements
