How To Top Up Nairobi Expressway ETC And MTC Cards at MOJA Expressway Offices

How to Apply For the Nairobi Expressway  ETC Card. Electronic Toll Card (ETC) is the fastest way to pay for using the Nairobi Expressway. Unlike the MTC card, the ETC requires an installation of an On-Board Unit in your car. The OBU works in a way that the cameras at the toll gate will automatically pick up your car and open the gate when you approach meaning there is a minimal to zero chance of you stopping.

How to Apply For the Nairobi Expressway  ETC Card

Follow this step-by-step application process to acquire an ETC card:

  1. Visit the Nairobi Expressway Customer page
  2. Click “Create Account”
  3. Choose between ‘Individual’ or ‘Corporate’ Account
  4. Fill in the necessary information and click “Submit”
  5. Enter the Verification Code received via text message
  6. Access your Profile Dashboard and click “Apply” for a new ETC
  7. Complete required details, including uploading scans of ID/Passport and Logbook
  8. Select an installation center: Lavington or Mombasa Road
  9. Visit the chosen installation center and confirm the submission of online data
  10. Sign documents and top up your account
  11. Have the ETC unit installed on your vehicle’s windshield
  12. Activation of the unit is done by the agent with a handheld device
  13. Pay a service charge of KES 1000 inclusive of VAT
  14. After that, purchase Toll Points and load Toll Points into your OBU device. The Minimum purchase amount of Toll Points is KES 2000 and with a validity of One Year.
  15. Your ETC is now ready to use.
