Coca-Cola Beverages Africa is the largest bottler in Africa driven by a shared vision, extensive experience of operating in African Markets, with a long-term strong commitment to the economic and social development of the communities we serve across the value-chain, including local suppliers and retailers. How To Become A Coca Cola Distributor in Kenya. On 27 November 2014, SABMiller plc, The Coca-Cola Company and GFI (controlling 80% of Coca-Cola South African Bottling Company (Sabco) ) announced they had come to terms on a merger. The merger would be executed in two phases. The first phase took 6–9 months, and the second would commence after the completion of the first phase, and last for around 12–18 months. The merger deal made Coca-Cola Beverages Africa the largest bottler in Africa and the 10th largest in the world, with annual revenue of US$3 billion. Coca-Cola Beverages Africa serves 12 countries, employs 12,000 people and accounts for 40 per cent of the total Coca-Cola beverage volume consumed in Africa. The merged business has its head office in South Africa.

Requirements to become a Coca-Cola Distributor in Kenya 

  • Able to obtain bank guarantee of KSh. 2 million.
  • Able to raise start-up capital of between KSh. 3 to 5 million
  • Able to have distribution vehicles with adequate carrying capacity as stipulated by Nairobi Bottlers Limited.
  • Able to locate/have warehouse facility comprising a minimum of 2000 square feet storage.
  • Provide copies of certificate of incorporation, memorandum, Relevant details of the applicant and KRA PIN Certificate.
  • State your market of interest
  • Must be a dedicated and committed entrepreneur for the foreseeable future on a full-time basis.
  • Must be committed to Nairobi Bottlers Limited Code of Business Ethics
  • Must demonstrate strong sales/general business expertise with a proven track record, including door-to-door selling.
  • Must be passionate about high performance and growth
  • Must be computer literate staff to work for stocks/bank/sales reconciliation.

Commitment to Nairobi Bottlers  limited Code of Business Ethics

A number of business ethics are explained in the coca cola website which falls under the Nairobi Bottlers Limited. The rules include:

  • Protect the environment. Conducting business in ways which protect and preserve the environment.
  • Child labor. Supplier will comply with all applicable local and national child labor laws.
  • Provide safe and healthy workplace. Maintain a productive workplace by minimizing the risk of accidents, injury, and exposure to health risks.
  • Forced labor. Supplier will not use forced, bonded, prison, military or compulsory labor.
  • Abuse of labor. Supplier will comply with all applicable local and national laws on abuse of employees and will not physically abuse employees.
  • Demonstration of compliance. Supplier must be able to demonstrate compliance with the supplier Guiding principles at the request and satisfaction of The Coca Cola Company.
  • Work hours and wages. Compensate employees relative to the industry and local labor market. Operate in full compliance with applicable wage, work hours, over time and benefits laws, and offer employees opportunities to develop their skills and capabilities and provide advancement opportunities where possible.
  • Freedom of association and collective bargaining. Supplier will comply with all applicable local and national laws on freedom association and collective bargaining.

  1. State the working capital and level of bank guarantee available
  2. Market of interest
