2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN): Overview and Key Highlights

The 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), also known as the TotalEnergies African Nations Championship for sponsorship purposes, is set to be the 8th edition of the biennial tournament organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF). This unique competition features national teams composed exclusively of players actively competing in their respective domestic leagues.

The tournament is scheduled to take place from 1 to 28 February 2025, marking the first time CHAN will be hosted by three countries: Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda. This edition serves as a precursor to the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, which will also be co-hosted by the East African region.
