U & I Microfinance bank is a licensed Microfinance Bank Institution, targeting micro-businesses and SME’s by providing working capital, facilitating technological improvements, business innovations and is committed to becoming the leading Microfinance Bank through provision of quality services.
They began operations in 2007 as a credit only microfinance institution but in 2013 it was granted a licence to operate as a deposit –taking microfinance institution. In April 2017, Central Bank of Kenya granted U&I Microfinance a National Licence hence the conversion from community microfinance to a nationwide microfinance.
They currently have four branches in Nairobi County (Asili and Gikomba branches), Kiambu County (Thika branch), Machakos County (Matuu branch) and Head Office being in Nairobi CBD.
