En+ Group is an aluminum and hydropower producer headquartered in Moscow, Russia.
HISTORY
En+ Group was founded in 2002 in Russia with a predominant focus on the production of aluminium and alumina.
In 2003, the company acquired 64.0% of the shares in Krasnoyarsk hydropower station. With 6.0 GW of installed electricity capacity, the Krasnoyarsk HPP is currently one of the largest hydropower stations globally.
In 2004, En+ Group became the sole owner of RUSAL.
In 2007, the Group acquired a controlling stake in the power company Irkutskenergo.
In 2007, following the acquisitions of SUAL Group and select aluminium and alumina businesses from Glencore, the current RUSAL was formed under UC RUSAL.
In 2008, RUSAL completed the acquisition of a 25% plus 1 share in Norilsk Nickel, one of the world’s largest producers of Nickel, palladium, platinum and copper.
In 2017, The Group successfully completed its initial public offering (IPO) of global depository receipts on the London Stock Exchange and the Moscow Exchange.
OPERATIONS
En+ Group operates through the following segments: Metals Segment and Power Segment.
Metals Segment
The Metals Segment focuses on the extraction and refinement of bauxite into alumina and the production and sale of primary aluminium, alumina and related products.
En+ Group is considered one of the world’s largest aluminum producers outside of China.
Power Segment
The Power Segment focuses on all major areas of the Russian power industry, including electricity and heat generation; electricity, capacity, and heat sales; heat distribution; retail power trading and supply; engineering services; and electricity distribution and transmission.
The Group’s power generation assets (hydropower plants, heat and power plants, and solar power plants) are located in the east Siberian and Volga regions.
With more than 90,000 employees and over 60 assets in 12 countries, En+ Group is considered one of the world’s largest independent producers of low-carbon aluminium and hydropower. According to Forbes, it is considered one of the Largest Public Companies in the World.
