Airtel Money Agent Requirements in Kenya

This article Explains Airtel Money Application Process in Kenya. Airtel is an Indian telecommunications company that operates in 17 countries across Africa, including Kenya.

In Kenya, many of the phones on the Airtel network are prepaid mobiles. That means users have to buy airtime, also known as talk-time or mobile credit, before they can make calls, send texts and use their data.

Airtel offers to receive money on an Airtel Money wallet directly (without having a bank account).

Airtel Money is a secure electronic service that enables Airtel Money wallet holders to store funds, send and receive money, make payments and do a number of other transactions simply using their mobile phone.

Money is added instantly to Airtel Money accounts. You only need to make sure that the recipient already has an Airtel Money account. You will need the recipient’s Mobile Money number.

  1. Visit Airtel Kenya Retail Shop or Dealer Outlet: Begin by visiting an Airtel Kenya retail shop or dealer outlet near you. Request an Airtel Money Agent Application Form from the staff.
  2. Complete the Application Form: Fill out the application form with accurate and relevant information. Double-check the details to ensure accuracy.
  3. Attach Required Documents: Attach all necessary documents as outlined in the specific requirements for your business type. These documents validate your eligibility and credibility.
  4. Submit Your Application: Submit the completed application form and attached documents to the Airtel Kenya retail shop or dealer outlet where you obtained the form.
  5. Await Feedback: After submission, patiently wait for feedback from Airtel Kenya. The application review process may take several weeks.
  6. Notification of Outcome: You will receive notification of the application outcome via the phone number you provided in the application form. This notification will inform you of whether your application was successful.
