Huang Shilin (born 1967) is a Chinese businessman, who has served as the vice chairman of Contemporary Amperex Technology (CATL), which is one of the world’s largest battery suppliers for the electric vehicle industry. As of 2018, Huang owned a 12% stake within the company. Shilin also holds a B.Tech degree from the Hefei University of Technology.
Huang earned a spot on the 2022 Forbes Billionaires List with an estimated wealth of $20.3 billion and occupied the 79th position.
The majority of Huang’s fortune is derived from his 10.7% stake in Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., a battery products manufacturer. CATL is the largest supplier of electric vehicle batteries in the world, according to its website.
He owns the shares directly and through asset management plans, according to the company’s 2023 semi-annual report.
The value of his cash investments is based on an analysis of dividends, insider transactions, taxes and market performance.

Born in 1967, Huang graduated from Hefei University of Technology, according to CATL’s prospectus for an initial public offering in 2018.
He was the research and development director at an energy company in southern China from 2004 to 2009 before becoming it’s vice president. In 012, he began working in CATL and has served different roles including general manager, director and vice-chairman.
The Ningde, China-based company reported revenue of 29.4 billion yuan ($4.5 billion) in 2018. It began trading publicly on the Shenzhen exchange on June 11, 2018.
