Bob Kelly Abreu (born March 11, 1974), nicknamed “El Comedulce” and also “La Leche“, is a Venezuelan former professional baseball outfielder, who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Houston Astros, Philadelphia Phillies, New York Yankees, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, Los Angeles Dodgers, and New York Mets.
Abreu is a two-time All-Star, and has won a Rawlings Gold Glove Award and a Silver Slugger Award. He has been a single-season league leader in games played (twice), doubles, and triples. He had two seasons in which he collected thirty home runs and thirty stolen bases, making him one of thirteen players to have achieved the 30–30 club twice in a career. Through 2014, Abreu led active ballplayers in doubles (565), walks (1,456), and outfield assists (136), was fifth in runs scored (1,441) and stolen bases (400), seventh in extra-base hits (911) and on-base percentage (.396), and tenth in runs batted in (1,363). He is also one of only seven players ever to record at least 900 career extra-base hits and steal at least 400 bases along with Barry Bonds, Ty Cobb, Tris Speaker, Craig Biggio, Honus Wagner, and Paul Molitor. Of these, five are in the National Baseball Hall of Fame.

Bob Kelly Abreu was born on March 11, 1974, in Turmero, Aragua State, of Venezuela. After playing in the Venezuelan winter baseball league, the 6-foot, 220-pounder was signed as an amateur free agent by the Houston Astros in August 1990.
Baseball Career
During his time with the team, Bobby Abreu was named the Astros minor league player of the year in 1996, and soon after, he made his major league debut. Abreu then moved to the Philadelphia Phillies in 1998. His record-breaking performance with the Phillies was ranked the third in the National League, making him the highest-paid outfielder at the time. He was the winner of the National League All-Star Final Vote by MLB.com and was also awarded the Player of the Month in the National League for his performance during the 2005 season. In 2006, Abreu became a New York Yankee. He then signed a one-year deal with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in 2009. As an Angel, Abreu was named American League player of the Month. He remained with The Angels for another two years. In 2012, Abreu struck a deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers as a pinch hitter. He remained with the Dodgers for the 2012 season. Abreu had a second stint with the Phillies after sitting out the 2013 season but was released by the team in March.
