Traton SE, known as the Traton Group (formerly Volkswagen Truck & Bus AG), is a subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group and one of the world’s largest commercial vehicle manufacturers, with its MAN, Scania, Navistar, and Volkswagen Caminhões e Ônibus brands. The company also has digital services branded as RIO. In 2020, the group sold around 190,200 vehicles.

HISTORY
TRATON’s history began in 2015 when Volkswagen AG created Volkswagen Truck & Bus GmbH to bundle its brands Scania, MAN and Volkswagen Caminhões e Ônibus.
In 2016, the digital brand RIO was added to the Group.
In 2017, Volkswagen Truck & Bus GmbH acquired 16.6% of the shares of Navistar Inc.
In 2018, Volkswagen Truck & Bus GmbH and Hino Motors Ltd. agreed to enter into a strategic partnership.
In 2018, Volkswagen Truck & Bus became TRATON GROUP.
In 2021, Traton completed its takeover of Navistar.
In 2022, Volkswagen Caminhões e Ônibus changed its corporate name to Volkswagen Truck and Bus, one of its parent’s former names.
In 2022, TRATON GROUP, Daimler Truck and Volvo Group established a joint venture for the development of charging infrastructure in Europe.
